Experts in cybersecurity and etic hacking from the International Cybernetic Institute report that the FBI has seized the domains of 15 different websites that offered services to launch DDoS attack; besides, the agency has accused 3 persons in charge of some of this websites.
These services, also known as “booters” or “stressers” gives access to an infected network devices (botnet) to any person, allowing them to launch DdoS attacks against any website, interrupting like this their regular working status.
According to the cybersecurity specialists, the gap days are dates in which some groups of hackers are more active; in other occasions, malicious actors have attacked some net platforms like Playstation, Xbox and similar services with DdoS attacks, ruining the christmas of thousands of gamers.
“This class of services could cause problems to thousand of victims. Besides, it’s important to highlight that this action is produced days before the christmas holidays, an historical period plagued with DDoS attacks”, says a message from the agency.
As a predecent, in April fo this year, the dutch police eliminated Webstresser, the biggest DdoS hired service of the world, that helped the cybercriminals to launch more than 4 millions of attacks. The administrators of that site were arrested.
The seized sites by the FBI were announced as legitimate services for network stressing tests. The seized domains by the agency are:

According to the reports of the cybersecurity experts, these services would have been used in a wide range of attacks against all kind of organizations in the United States, Latin America and other parts of the world, including bank sites, universities, government portals and videogames platforms.
Some days ago, the EU drstrict attorney office brought accusations against David Bukoski, a 23 years old man, accusing him for operating in the site Quantum Stresser, one of the most relevant DDoS services, that had around 80000 subscribers since the 2012, year of its creation. It is calculated that during 2018, Quantum Stresser launched more than 50000 DDoS attacks against organizations around the world.
Besides closing this 15 websites, the FBI have presented accusations against Matthew Gatrel and Juan Martinez,2 guys that are supposed to be involved in some of this services.
This have been a hard blow to the operators of these services and a warning for the ones remaining. Besides, the FBI have announced that they will not only present accusations against the administrators of this malicious services, but also will try to prosecute anyone that hire a DDoS attack or any other kind of cyberattack.
